Time Tracking

Track billable hours per ticket in FoxDesk. Start and stop timers, generate time reports, and calculate support costs for client billing.

Timers

Start a timer from a ticket. The active timer remains available in the application header while you move between pages. Each user can have one running timer.

Pause or stop the timer when work is interrupted or complete. Cancel it if the entry should not be saved.

Manual entries

Use a manual entry when the work was completed without a timer. Record the duration in minutes, the work date, a summary, and the billing status. A manual entry can also be added while creating a ticket.

Rates

  • Organization billable rate: the default amount charged for work associated with that organization.
  • User cost rate: the internal cost used for work recorded by that user.
  • Time-entry override: a rate stored for one specific entry.

Reports use the values stored with the relevant time entries and configuration. Review rates before using an export for invoicing.

Long-running timers

The application limits unusually long timer sessions to reduce accidental data inflation. Treat that limit as a safeguard, not a substitute for reviewing time entries.
