Introduction
Learn what the self-hosted FoxDesk edition includes and what operating it requires.
What is FoxDesk?
FoxDesk is a self-hosted helpdesk and time-tracking application licensed under AGPL-3.0. You install it on infrastructure you operate and remain responsible for its database, files, backups, email configuration, security, and updates.
Feature Overview
- Tickets: Create, assign, prioritize, discuss, and archive customer requests.
- Time tracking: Run a timer or add a manual duration to a ticket.
- Clients and organizations: Group customer access, tickets, rates, and reports.
- Email intake: Fetch a configured mailbox on a schedule and create tickets or replies.
- Agent API: Give an external script or AI agent a separate identity and scoped token.
Before you install
FoxDesk does not include managed hosting or an uptime commitment. Confirm the server requirements, backup plan, email delivery, and update process first.
The application does not charge a per-agent license fee. Your infrastructure and maintenance still have operating costs.
